I use Facebook for the same thing. I think it's a great way to keep in touch with friends and family and see what's going on in everyones lives. Making the points of fake accounts was a good point on a negative on social media.
I had never heard the word "catfishing" before, but I've heard of this happening. Just saw a really sad movie http://imdb.to/174nTYb about a kid who was catfished, sent some unfortunate pics over the internet which went public in his school, and killed himself over it. Too bad it happens but I'm glad to know that people know about catfishing and that people like your roommate are too savvy to be fooled. Do you think most people are above being tricked by it?
This is zack checking in, i thought your post was really funny and i totally agree with your views on facebook. Its nice to use once in a while to connect with old friends but it gets old really quickly. Tell your roommate to be more careful! Checking out!
